Mission Motorcycles has shown and raced enticing e-Bikes that you can only admire in the paddock. Until now, since Mission has just announced that it would build a limited-edition Mission RS as a street-legal version of the MM prototype that won the Laguna Seca FIM/TTXGP. It comes with an Ohlins FGRT fork, an Ohlins TTX36 MKII rear shock, and BST carbon-fiber wheels. The optional GP package includes an Ohlins FGR200 gas-pressurized fork like those used by MotoGP teams.
The RS’s brakes are Brembo GP4-RX CNC-machined radial calipers and 320mm full-floating rotors; the GP package comes with SP-spec calipers teamed with Brembo World Superbike-spec rotors. A fully adjustable regenerative braking system is standard.
The RS’s 150kW motor delivers a claimed 163 horsepower and 133 lb.-ft. of torque, giving it a top speed of more than 150 mph and a range of 140 miles. All this electro-goodness will set you back $56,499 after a $2500 Federal tax credit.
For less sturdy budgets there’s the Mission R, which comes with Ohlins RT suspension, Brembo Monoblock calipers, and Marchesini forged aluminum wheels. The R has three battery package options: 12 kWh (105-mile range); 15 kWh (120 miles); and 17 kWh (140 miles). The R goes for $29,999, including a $2500 Federal tax credit.
Both the RS and the R can be reserved now. Delivery of the Mission RS is scheduled for the summer of 2014, and the Mission R will be available following the delivery of all limited-edition models.
