Special thanks to two eagle-eyed, camera-toting readers, Patrick Duffy and Steven Weyrick, for capturing these images of a special motorcycle awareness message appearing recently on the digital signs that line California’s freeway system.MSF and Caltrans cooperate to improve motorcycle safety photo

“SHARE THE ROAD—LOOK TWICE FOR MOTORCYCLISTS”, the signs read, reminding the cage-bound commuters to be extra aware of motorcyclists sneaking up their six. The digital messages, the result of a cooperative venture between the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and Caltrans, could be seen across California in mid-February. The digital messages will return in May to mark Motorcycle Safety Month and again on June 21st, which is 2010 Ride to Work Day.

I know I’ve seen some nasty crashes out there! Riders have a really important responsibility, but a car is bigger and drivers need to be aware of the 2 wheels on the rode for everyone’s sake!

So who’s responsibility is it for the biker to safely traverse the American highway mine, or yours? Tis the season for bikers to hit the road and already I am seeing crashes every-where. Two saturdays ago i counted bike crashes…. would you believe of the 50 ( give or take a couple ) bikers i saw 2 had crashed. This is not good, Oh and yes these were single bike crashes.
